Overview
Our client, a Southeast Asia’s most trusted car service platform, is seeking a Finance Manager to lead and manage the company’s full financial operations. This includes accounting, payables / receivables, cash flow management, tax, audit, and cross-border compliance. The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO and other department heads to establish scalable financial systems that support our growth. This role is ideal for a candidate who can implement strong financial controls and systems while adapting to the dynamic pace of a growing startup.
Responsibilities
- Full Financial Operations Oversight
Manage the entire accounting cycle, from daily transactions to monthly and yearly closings
Ensure accurate and timely handling of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and platform settlementsDevelop and enforce financial standard operating procedures (SOPs) across procurement, payments, and reporting processesBudgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow ManagementCollaborate with department heads to prepare budgets and monitor expenditure
Track cash flow, maintain adequate reserves, and forecast funding needsDeliver clear, actionable financial reports to support strategic business decisionsTax, Compliance & Audit PreparationLead the preparation of annual audits, tax filings, and statutory submissions
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and the company secretary to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirementsEnsure cross-border payments (e.g., MYR–RMB) are structured in line with legal and regulatory standardsFinance Systems & Process ImprovementsEnhance usage of financial tools (e.g., AutoCount) to improve operational efficiency
Identify areas for automation and workflow improvements in financial processesEnsure clean, organized financial data to support investor reporting and due diligenceTeam Leadership and DevelopmentLead and mentor a finance team
Set performance KPIs, manage reviews, and ensure balanced workload distributionFoster a high-performance, accountable, and trustworthy finance team cultureQualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification is preferred)Minimum 5 years of end-to-end finance experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership roleStrong proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., AutoCount, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsPrior experience in eCommerce, FMCG, or service-based industries is an advantageSolid knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory complianceExperience in managing cross-border financial transactions (especially MYR–RMB) is a plusDemonstrated ability to lead processes from the ground up, with high ownership and attention to detail#J-18808-Ljbffr
