Who You Are :
You are a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer, data driven with solid experience in semiconductor and LED packaging, particularly in auto vision inspection. You excel in both development and high-mix manufacturing environments and are skilled in recipe development, process optimization, and equipment troubleshooting. You lead with data, take initiative, and enjoy collaborating across functions to drive continuous improvement. You're also capable of mentoring and developing junior talent while taking charge of critical technical projects.
Position Summary :
As a Development Engineer with auto vision inspection processes, you will lead process development activities. You will support development builds from conceptual prototyping to production industrialization, equipment performance enhancement, process capability improvement, and drive yield and cost optimizations. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Equipment Engineering, with opportunities to take on team leadership responsibilities.
The engineer expected to be able to adapt to new process and equipment assigned, and perform self-learning and familiarization in short period of time (1-3 months) prior official training.
What You Will Do :
Process development to support technical program and project, establish and develop new processes, including designing process mechanism and equipment, creating production procedures, and establishing quality control guidelines
Conducting research on emerging technologies and industry trends, exploring new ideas, and assessing their feasibility for new processes.
Identifying and resolving technical challenges during the process development, requiring strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in order to provide solution accordingly.
Creating prototypes, conducting experiments, and analyzing results to refine designs and improve performance.
Lead engineering projects and drive improvements in yield, quality, cycle time, and cost.
Set up, validate, and optimize processes for NPI, production ramp-up and product sustaining.
Develop and maintain process documentation including FMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, OCAP
Create and optimize machine recipes for auto vision inspection machine and related tools.
Perform process characterization and define robust windows using DOE and SPC methods.
Conduct risk / gap assessments for new products vs HVM baseline.
Drive technical audits and interface with customers when required.
Train and supervise engineers and technicians, identifying skill gaps and training needs.
Support material and equipment evaluations for scalability and robustness.
Collaborate on cross-functional development and transfer of technologies into volume production.
Guide, mentor and coach Associate Engineers / Technicians and / or Manufacturing Specialist.
Support all engineering activities assigned and tasked by superior.
What You Will Bring (RequiredQualifications) :
Experience in semiconductor backend or precision electronics manufacturing.
Practical knowledge of semiconductor machine preferably auto inspection vision, familiar with various type of AVI process and equipment will be added advantage.
Demonstrated ability in development activities execution, recipe development, and process optimization.
Strong understanding of SPC, DOE, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP), MES systems, and machine data traceability.
Knowledge of OEE, GR&R, MSA, and capability studies, added advantage.
Independent and proactive, with strong initiative and minimal supervision required.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Skilled in MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Material Engineeringand any related Engineering field
Years of Experience (Minimum)
5 - 7 years
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in low volume / high mix manufacturing environment.
Ability to troubleshooting, problems solving, strong technical report writing and data interpretation skills.
