Responsibilities
- Develop, plan and manage the effective / efficient operation and maintenance of public STP to achieve targeted / optimum performance standards, without contravening effluent discharge standards, and without causing nuisance to residents.
- Plan, monitor and control treatment budgets to ensure effective operations of STP.
- Plan and implement training needs of operating personnel to enhance skills and experience to achieve high level of performance of STP, and to ensure operational procedures are followed in carrying out work.
- Formulate, plan and implement the strategy for interworks tankering, sludge processing / dewatering facilities and sludge final disposal to ensure overall effectiveness of plant operations performance.
- Monitor and train personnel to ensure safe working practices and procedures are implemented and followed at all times so as to comply with Company health and safety requirements to avoid accidents.
- Manage all contracts to ensure compliance to contract obligations and timely processing and verification of payment claims.
- Prepare and submit monthly / regular operational and performance reports to meet agreed deadlines.
- Manage and ensure all public complaints are resolved within targeted levels of service.
- Manage treatment plant process control, monitor effluent results and propose mitigation / remedial measures for STPs failing regulatory requirements.
- Manage and repair process equipment to ensure minimum downtime.
- Ensure reliability of equipment data and the control movement of M&E equipment for effective control and to avoid loss of assets.
- Plan the procurement of spares and materials for proper O&M of STPs and to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Manage Treatment Section budget and report on variances to Head of Operations.
- Assist in inspection, certification and commissioning for new STPs to be taken over to ensure completion of requirements.
- Plan, prepare and implement emergency procedures to cope with accidental spills and emergencies at STPs.
- Monitor, supervise and analyse process control at all plants.
Requirements
Engineering Degree in a related field from a recognized University.Possess high technical capability and analytical skills in O&M water and wastewater treatment plants, with a minimum of 10 years of related working experience.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Good command of both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.PC literate in Microsoft Office.Unlock job insights
