Overview
A manufacturer known for producing high-quality auto parts die castings is seeking an Equipment & Maintenance Assistant Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, optimizing equipment performance, leading automation upgrades, ensuring safety and environmental compliance, and building a technically strong and collaborative team to support continuous manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee routine maintenance, scheduled servicing, and preventive maintenance plans for key equipment including die-casting machines, trim presses, melting furnaces, ladling systems, temperature control units (TCUs), and robotic automation systems.
- Define clear maintenance responsibilities by role to ensure optimal equipment performance, extend service life, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Manage spare parts inventory and develop procurement strategies to ensure critical components (e.g., hydraulic pumps, sensors, cooling parts) are available to support uninterrupted production.
- Develop recruitment, training, and succession plans for the equipment team, focusing on die-casting process knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with national safety laws and company policies; develop safety SOPs and conduct regular training for high-temperature and molten metal operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields.Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, electrical control, thermal management, and automation relevant to die-casting equipment.Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment or maintenance roles, ideally within die-casting, foundry, or high-temperature manufacturing environments.Proven experience in maintaining and debugging die-casting machines, CNC machining centres, melting furnaces, and automation systems.Proficient in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD); capable of producing equipment drawings and technical documentation.Skilled in PLC programming and automation control systems; able to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems independently.Knowledge of common die-casting defects (e.g., porosity, cold shut, flash) and how equipment maintenance can prevent them.#J-18808-Ljbffr
