Job Summary
Key responsibilities include supporting application middleware, payment systems, and real-time transaction systems. The engineer must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, deep technical knowledge, Data Analytics & Insights, an understanding of payment journey and service-level expectations. Responsibilities Strategy : Support CASH applications (Payment Squad) leveraging technology to enhance observability, execute the new initiatives etc.
Business : Work with Payments Business from investment decisions through design, specifications, solutioning, development, implementation and hand-over to operations; secure support and collaboration from other SCB teams. Ensure delivery to business meeting time, cost and quality constraints. Support respective businesses in growing ROI, commercialisation of capabilities, bid teams, monitoring of usage, improving client experience, enhancing operations, addressing defects & continuous improvement of systems. Thrive in an ecosystem of innovation and enable business through technology.
Processes : End-to-end deliveries of the technology portfolio comprising key business product areas such as Cash products. Own technology delivery of projects and programs across global SCB markets supporting operational improvements, process efficiencies and zero-touch agendas. Build a platform aligned with latest technology & architecture trends, improved stability, and scale. Interface with business & technology leaders of other SCB systems for collaborative delivery.
People & Talent : Define best practices, standardize engineering processes, and enable continuous improvement across production platforms. Act as a technical SME, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable platforms. 2025 : Own the end-to-end lifecycle of production systems for CIB — observability, incident response, and post-mortem analysis; drive initiatives to improve system reliability, availability and performance across hybrid (on-prem + cloud) infrastructure; drive 24x7 system uptime, optimize observability, and alerting thresholds, automation; implement and fine-tune monitoring and telemetry stacks (e.g., Prometheus / Grafana, ELK, Datadog, Splunk); improve MTTR metrics through better alert correlation, auto-remediation, and dashboarding; partner with Hive teams to design production-ready services, embed performance metrics and rollback mechanisms.
Risk Management : Adhere to Incident, Problem, Change and Release management processes. Proactively identify risks in the application and manage mitigations. Track and close risks and compliance issues in Riskwise. Participate in internal / external risks and timely closure of audit actions.
Governance : Promote compliance with internal control functions and external regulatory framework.

Candidate should have at least 12+ years of experience in Banking or Financial domain with following skills. A very good knowledge in Business Analysis, Requirement gathering & gap analysis Good knowledge around Technical Stack : Java, Spring, Spring Cloud, Mongo & Oracle or Postgres databases, Elasticsearch, Hazelcast, Kafka, REST APIs, JSON / YML, ELK, Grafana, ITRS Hold sound understanding of IT technology concepts and growing technology needs & capabilities like Cloud, AI Thorough understanding of project management principles and processes Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering / MCA / MSC in Computer Science Certification from Scrum, AWS preferred About Standard Chartered
