Specialist / Senior Specialist Global Intercompany & Reporting (GIR)
Provide timely support of the Group’s financial reporting functions (such as preparation of reporting package, preparation of disclosure notes, and fluctuation analysis / commentary).
Delivery of end to end intercompany accounting services for billings (receivables and payables), confirmation, settlement, and reconciliations. This involves coordinating and reconciling intercompany transactions and assuring quality services delivery to internal customers.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and intercompany transactions, in compliance with HK IFRS, relevant legal & statutory requirements, and in according to Group policy.
This role will be direct report to GIR Manager in GSC.
Responsibilities
- Prepare reporting package for legal entities and consolidate for Group financial reporting on a timely basis.
- Ensure the information received from GSC team or local finance complies with HK IFRS and Group accounting standards.
- Coordinate with GSC team or local finance to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial results recorded in books. Ensure the results submitted to group are well controlled, accurate and in timely manner.
- Prepare meaningful analytical reviews and analysis, accounting journals for correction, workings and schedules, other group reporting deliverables, financial statements, and related items on a regular basis.
- Support HK HQ on relevant Group financial reporting and analysis matters by providing timely and satisfactory response on all queries to enable business decisions.
- Support various Group financial reporting related initiatives and coordinate with various departments in HK HQ and GSC on rolling out of the initiatives.
- Support HK HQ to perform impact assessment and determine the accounting treatment on the new HK IFRS implementation. Support the implementation in terms of roadshows to GSC finance team.
- Support GSC finance team on any accounting inquiries raised and advise the appropriate accounting treatment based on HK IFRS.
- Assist the Manager to develop and recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of stakeholders.
- Provide the accurate, reliable, and timely reporting for internal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with required external and internal controls.
- In annual basis, preparation of a more comprehensive group consolidated financial statements, disclosures, notes and supporting schedules, analytical review, in accordance with HK IFRS reporting requirements & group policies, and ensure that tight deadlines are met.
- Support HK HQ on liaison with group external auditors during year-end audit requests.
- Assist in projects such as Robotic Process Automation / Continuous Improvement project and plan.
- Responsible to update desk procedures, control checklist and training materials as and when new enhancement identified, implemented and communicated.
Intercompany activities
Collect and / or prepare and review appropriate supporting documents for all Intercompany activities from the business units.Prepare and post various monthly intercompany transactions and entries, including creating and processing intercompany invoices (receivables / payables) with adequate supporting documentation.Support monthly / quarterly / annual close processes on intercompany matters and work closely with finance teams in GSC, HQ & local country to resolve issues.Manage & ensure all intercompany balances within PPG group are reconciled prior to consolidation elimination.Initiate payment and netting for intercompany and affiliates.Interact proactively and effectively with finance team to ensure that significant intercompany issues are resolved on time and the statutory reporting deadlines are met. Escalate exceptions to stakeholders timely.Support PPG reporting requirements on intercompany (eg. intercompany elimination in group reporting).Prepare monthly reconciliations for intercompany accounts. Perform analysis on any discrepancies relating to Intercompany transactions.Resolve differences in intercompany balances and invoicing issues on timely basis (intercompany matrix file).Provide audit support specific to intercompany accounting (eg. Intercompany confirmation and reconciliation).Ensure adherence of processes to company’s policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls.Maintain focus on continuous process improvement.Periodic review and update desk procedures accurately and timely.Others
Participate or lead in Continuous Improvement initiatives and various transformation agendas.Coach & guide junior team members to meet defined service standards thereby achieving the expected delivery service quality (for Senior specialist role).Backup team members, maintain effective back-up plan / business continuity plan.Any other ad-hoc function assigned by the Manager.About you
Education / Professional Qualification
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent; and / orProfessional qualification in ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.Professional Experience
4-6 years working experience in Finance / Accounting, with 2-4 years exposure in a large and reputable audit firm would be an added advantage.Work experience in a multinational or regional corporate business environments is preferable.Exposure in SUN accounting systems and / or other ERP systems.Possess strong understanding of accounting systems, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial statements analysis.Exposure in consolidation tools / systems would be an added advantage.Technical
Strong on IFRS, US GAAP, relevant local accounting standards.Exposure on Consolidated Accounts and Intercompany activities.Strong analytical skills.Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros, tables and graph production) and MS PowerPoint.Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills in English.#J-18808-Ljbffr
