The Credit Risk Governance Head leads the Credit Risk Governance team, acting as a strategic influence to shape how the Bank manages credit-related risks. The key responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive direction and oversight over the rules and frameworks used for lending, the standards for approving loans, and how the Bank models potential losses. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the Bank’s credit lifecycle and credit provisions management are robust and prudent, and ensuring the Bank follows the risk appetite set by senior leaders and the Board. The successful candidate reports to the Chief Risk Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Independent Credit Reviews : Lead a team of independent credit reviewers to ensure a countervailing perspective on the credit risk management lifecycle is provided and to provide quality assurance on credit risk components, from origination, evaluation, administration to recovery, from the position of the second line of defense.
- Credit Portfolio Risk Assessment and Stability : Lead a team of portfolio credit analysts in undertaking risk analytics reporting and assessments to ensure the stability of the respective credit portfolios, including the application of MFRS 9 Forward Looking Models for measuring expected credit losses (ECL) using forecasted macroeconomic variables.
- Strategic Credit Risk Modeling and Management : Lead a team of credit decision scientists in driving the development, management, and delivery of complex statistical models for Risk Appetite Statements, Credit Stress Tests, and Credit Decisioning Models (PD, LGD, EAD), integrating advanced analytics to optimize risk-return trade-offs and profitable growth across multiple country regions.
- Senior Management Communication and Strategy Recalibration : Present and communicate material analysis on asset / credit quality to Senior Management and relevant committees, proposing actionable recommendations that lead to the recalibration of the Bank's overall risk appetite and lending strategy.
Jobholder Requirement
Education / Qualification
Bachelor's degree holder and above, in any field.10 years and above relevant experience in the banking / finance / investment industry. 3 years and above in middle management (1-down or maximum 2-down from C-Suite) in the area of credit risk.Membership in a local or internationally recognized risk management professional body is a plus.What’s next?
