Candidates with ACCA / CPA preferred for the role of the Finance / Accounts Manager to ensure the effective utilisation of funds and proper maintenance of book of accounts along with timely reporting.
Responsibilities
- Authorization of transactions and payments.
- Supervision of Accounts, Receipts and Payments.
- Meeting accounting financial objectives by accurately and reliably forecasting funding requirements.
- Preparing the annual company budget in accordance with business plan and budget guidelines.
- Implement mandatory corporate cost containment and / or reductions effectively in an agreed time period.
- Monitoring and evaluation of Country budgets including enforcement of cost reductions and / or adherence to budget ad business plans, where required.
- Completing a risk assessment and developing risk mitigation strategies to ensure business plan attainment / budget adherence.
- Financial analysis and conducting ABC analysis aimed at maximizing efficient use of financial resources and / or reviewing decision making regarding non-performing branches, products / services and / or banking relations.
- Scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating / enforcing corrective actions.
- Confirming financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses.
- Coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data.
- Guiding other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy.
- Applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Maintaining financial security by establishing internal controls; and taking appropriate timely action.
- Ensuring effective utilization of resources.
- Reporting to local bodies, general manager, regulators and financial controller as and when required.
- The safe custody of financial documents.
- Finalization of book of accounts.
- Cost and benefit analysis including recommendations.
- Controlling, performance evaluation and coordinating the job of the accounts team.
- Developing the competence of the account’s teams, including highlighting accounting personnel who may be non-performing and / or guilty of gross incompetence.
- Liaison with local banks for facility renewal and other operating activities.
- Review of Trial Balance and General ledger.
- Liaison with internal and external auditor for inventory valuation.
- Review of reconciliation and adequate measures

Training
The person fulfilling this role will be expected to commence work immediately on appointment. General Induction training and other appropriate training will be provided.
