Overview
Our client is a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. The bank is expanding its footprint in Malaysia and is delivering innovative financial technology solutions through a newly setup technology centre in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations.
The role is to be part of a technology and operations team that develops, centralises and standardises technology systems and banking operations for Malaysia and overseas branches.
Responsibilities
- Provide application support to various business users. Attend to business queries and business requests promptly. Follow through the business requests to a proper closure.
- Work on timely resolution for reported incidents to meet service level targets; incidents include failures and queries reported by business users and technical staff, and event alerts from monitoring tools.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify permanent solutions to prevent recurring incidents and minimize the impact of unavoidable incidents.
- Ensure all incidents and problems are proactively managed—prioritize issues of varying severity and escalate to the necessary teams and management as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the development team to identify resolutions and transition releases into production environments.
- Adopt standard Incident and Problem Management workflows and processes, including timely ticketing, defect and incident logging, and change management communications.
- Participate in DR / BCM activities or infrastructure-related upgrades.
- Responsible for capacity management : monitor and analyse performance and capacity data and forecast capacity needs for applications.
- Contribute to management reporting and other centrally driven project initiatives as needed, in addition to day-to-day support duties.
Mandatory Skills Description
Degree in computer science / engineering or related disciplines.3+ years of experience in application development and a support environmentMariaDB - Basic hands-on experience in installing and setting up MariaDB servers.Database Configuration : Knowledge of configuring parameters, users, and access controls in MariaDB.Troubleshooting : Able to identify and resolve common database issues related to connectivity, performance, or availability.Working experience on Unix / Windows platforms, batch scheduling tools, database query skills, and BI tools skillsets.Experience in Infra DBA setting up MariaDB servers and troubleshooting.Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.Excellent knowledge of front-to-back banking business, finance, risk and accounting data across various sectors.Excellent and proven Incident / Problem Management and organizational skills.Seniority level
