Cloud Platforms : Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including deployment, scaling, and management of cloud-based infrastructure. Networking : Understanding of TCP / IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols; experience configuring network interfaces and firewalls. Storage Management : Knowledge of SAN / NAS and experience configuring and managing storage solutions. Scripting and Automation : Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks and provisioning. Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Experience with Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus; ability to troubleshoot server and network issues. Security Best Practices : Understanding of security principles and experience implementing access controls, encryption, and compliance standards. Backup and Disaster Recovery : Familiarity with backup solutions and DR strategies for data integrity and business continuity. Documentation : Ability to create and maintain technical documentation including system configurations and procedures. Proficiency in Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS). Knowledge of virtualization technologies (KVM). Understanding of server hardware and software configuration; network protocols and technologies. Proficiency in disk management (LVM). Job Purpose
Job Purpose
Design, develop, and maintain server infrastructure and optimize server performance and efficiency. Provide leadership and guidance to the IT infrastructure engineers, and oversee server, virtualization, and cloud-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain center operations : oversee the data center operation, ensure smooth functioning, and address issues as they arise.
- Manage server environments to maximize application deployment and update server connections.
- Private Cloud Virtualization : maintain mi-cloud servers to ensure smooth functioning.
- Oversee CEPH storage : manage and maintain CEPH storage systems for optimal performance and issue resolution.
- Keep inventory updated : maintain an up-to-date data center asset inventory.
- Manage team members : provide exposure and guidance to team members.
- Disaster Recovery Site Management : ensure readiness and effectiveness of the disaster recovery site.
- Design and develop server structures : develop procedures for installing, upgrading, and configuring applications within server environments.
- Analyze and assess existing systems : work with stakeholders to identify improvements and implement solutions.
- Coordinate corrective measures promptly in response to server issues or failures.
- Provide second-level support for systems and end-users, addressing complex issues and ensuring smooth operations.
- Participate in design, implementation, enhancement and ongoing support of complex business solutions.
- Willingness to undertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor or management.
