As an Associate supporting Chemical Production, you will be primarily responsible for applying technical expertise to research, design, develop, and implement chemical reactions that transform raw materials into valuable products. You will support chemical plant equipment design, determine optimal operation arrangements, and contribute to project goals at Johor, Malaysia . In this role, a typical day will include :

• Apply technical knowledge to research, design, develop, and implement chemical reactions for converting raw materials into valuable forms
• Support the design of chemical plant equipment and processes for manufacturing products like gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics, detergents, cement, paper, and pulp
• Determine the most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, oxidation, hydrogenation, and polymerization
• Support project goals through effective task completion, following established procedures with some decision-making authority
• Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training
• Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements, meeting individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization
• Establish additional training materials / evaluation documents as well as review and revise existing training materials / evaluation documents to improve and enhance competency, awareness, understanding and efficiency of staff.
• Responsible for training of the entire team, monitor and maintain departmental staff Plateau training without overdue to ensure the team always conduct daily tasks with latest procedures.
• Perform routine check and review all sort of documents, process observation, material management in terms of FEFO (including SAP transaction), safety practices to ensure the sustainability of high-level performance in the implementation and compliance of all standard requirements at all time as the readiness of audit preparedness as well as provide timely and constructive feedback to superior.
• Ensure the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all materials are always up to date i.e. with its validity period
• Responsible to perform annual review for HIRARC, PPE Assessment, Aspect & Impact and FMEA.
• Responsible to review, maintain and manage IMTE for all equipment.
• Support the control and monitoring of consumable items usage and raise purchase requisition for any purchase.
• Responsible for operationalizing and ensuring compliance with ISRM Record Management Policies and supporting the ISRM activities.
• Observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Health Safety and Environment Standards.
• Conduct aspect impact and implement according to the environmental management system plan (ISO14001 : 2015 Standard)
• Participate and promote health, safety, and the environment as part of the HSE Committee member’s responsibility.
• Perform trending analysis for all formulations on-going process.
• Establish engineering study protocol (ESP) and report writing (ESR) with the purpose of investigation
• Conduct online trouble shooting, investigation and problem solving for any issues related to Chemical Production and follow up for any issues related to Chemical Production and follow through NCR and CAPA procedure accordingly.
• Support smooth production operations by pigment qualification, cleaning verification, retest material coordination, use test or application test on materials, any Special Build Run (SBR) from all departments with protocols and availability of Roalox ceramic jar & beads (including condition of new jar and retirement for ageing jar).
• Adherence to Alcon values & behaviors, observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Code of Business Conducts.
