Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Tax Senior Executive / Assistant Manager to be a core part of the Group Tax team. This role is crucial in managing all aspects of the group's direct tax matters, including corporate tax compliance, strategic tax planning, advisory services, and handling tax audits and investigations across multiple business divisions.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and ensure timely submission of annual corporate tax computations and returns for all business units (SBUs).
Provide advisory services to SBUs on complex transactions, ensuring appropriate tax treatments to maximise tax efficiency and capitalise on government tax incentives.
Manage, support, and coordinate all information required for tax audits and investigations by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) up to clearance.
Monitor, review, and ensure timely compliance with Withholding Tax and all other statutory and regulatory tax requirements.
Review, assess, and ensure the adequacy of annual and quarterly tax estimates and financial year-end provisions .
Communicate and implement new tax laws, public rulings, and budget proposals across the Group to ensure timely compliance and streamline tax positions.
Assist with applications for tax refunds, tax credit set-offs, and penalty waivers, while monitoring the Group's overall tax position .
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and / or a recognised Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc.) . Membership in MIA or CTIM is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in corporate tax compliance within a commercial group or tax firm.
Solid and practical understanding of Malaysian Corporate Tax Law and taxation principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, work independently , and adhere strictly to deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and liaison skills for effective communication across all internal divisions and with external parties (e.g., IRB).
