Job Description
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related agreements, including FIDIC contracts, subcontracts, and procurement documents.
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide legal advice on contractual obligations, rights, and risk exposures.
- Oversee compliance with construction laws, environmental requirements, and health & safety standards.
- Manage contract disputes, claims, and arbitration matters under FIDIC and other relevant legal frameworks.
- Support litigation processes and liaise with external legal counsel when required.
- Assess and mitigate legal risks across construction projects.
- Conduct due diligence on contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with legal and regulatory developments impacting the construction industry.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and statutory requirements.
- Partner with project managers, procurement teams, and senior leadership to provide legal guidance.
- Engage with regulators, clients, and subcontractors to resolve legal and contractual matters.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ legal experience within the construction industry.Law degree (LLB) or equivalent; prior experience with FIDIC contracts is essential.Strong knowledge of construction law and contract administration.Proven experience in handling claims, disputes, and contract negotiations.Sound understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in construction.Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure.Benefits
