SUMMARY or MAJOR FUNCTION OF THE JOB## The Regional Supplier Development Manager (RSDM) is responsible for strategic focus on the development and proactive continuous improvement of the Commercial Aircraft Group Supply base while leading a supplier engagement team. This includes leadership in the development of operational structures, processes, methodologies, performance measures and strategies focused on immediate, intermediate, and long-range performance improvement of our suppliers and being able to communicate these at the senior and executive leadership level internally and with our suppliers and customers.The RSDM will work in alignment with the vision and direction set by the Integrated Supply Chain General Manager and Regional directors and work closely and in concert with the RSDMs from the other regions.The Regional Supplier Development Manager role is multifaceted and requires : an understanding of supply chain complexities, technical understanding across a broad product mix and manufacturing methods, mature understanding of quality systems, demonstrated mastery of structured problem solving and LEAN principles, strong internal and external communication skills with a high ability to influence and a keen understanding of business risk mitigation strategies.High travel (>

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES or KEY RESULTS OF THE JOB## Oversight of regional strategic supplier development, e.g. setting strategic objectives and team execution Ownership of supplier development and suppliers' long-term performance improvement Provides governance to supplier performance monitoring methods including developing methodology for supplier assessment, readiness, long range development mapping, strategic relevance and supplier prioritization Monitors metrics to escalate appropriate supplier from reactive recovery to proactive incremental improvement and long range maturity. Communicates to leadership, including budget requirements, supplier prioritization strategies and progress. Approve selected suppliers for capability development Ensuring proper capacity workload across the supplier development team Is the technical and quality point of escalation for site and program leadership and supply chain execution teams.## 4. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES or UNUSUAL CHALLENGES
The Regional Supplier Development Manager (RSDM) will be expected to have the breadth and knowledge to develop and effectively optimize the performance of critical suppliers to Moog. Exceptional challenges will be the ability to influence suppliers to invest in proactive development activities which may at times include hostile environments. The RSDM must have an exceptional ability to build, maintain and repair relationships with suppliers and facilitate a customer focused partnership level culture.## 5. QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE DESIRABLE AT JOB ENTRY or NEEDED FOR BEGINNING EFFECTIVENESS IN THE JOBBS in Engineering in a discipline related to the commodity requirements or equivalent experience.Significant time in prior Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain roles with demonstrated performance.Desired qualifications would include, Supply Chain Professional certification, Program Management experience, additional education and a Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering.The incumbent should have progressive experience that demonstrates management level knowledge, skills and ability across multiple disciplinesThe Incumbent should have 5-10 years in a supervisory / management position that includes technical team members (ME, DE, QE, etc.). Strong team leadership and people management and lean leadership skills are required. Proven strategic / systems thinking skills are important.Good negotiating / influencing skillsStrong communication skills are required in the form of written, verbal and formal presentation. Incumbent should have the ability to effectively communicate with, and influence, internal and external decision makers of diverse backgrounds, at all management levels.The individual must be able to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.The individual must be able to support a high travel load (>25%) both domestically and internationally periodically.
FURTHER SIGNIFICANT POINTS REGARDING THE CONTENT OR CONTEXT OF JOBThe incumbent will be responsible for developing and leading a highly effective, results-oriented team of regional Supply Chain technical professionals inclusive of Quality (SQE) and Manufacturing (SME) engineers and Supplier Performance Managers (SPMs) This person will be a representative for Moog in relations with key customers and suppliers and will represent the Supply Chain organization in relations with the various business units regarding supplier development activities. As a Global service organization, the Supply Chain function has many customers with varying needs, it is the responsibility of the incumbent to meet the individual needs of its customers, yet perform the key aspects of the function in a consistent manner. This person must be able to work from general guidelines using considerable judgment regarding staff, internal customers and management interaction.
