Overview
The Head of Group Procurement role responsible for overseeing and optimizing procurement and contract management across all business units to achieve strategic and operational goals. This role will develop procurement policies, drive strategic planning, manage supplier relationships, and establish internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency. The Head of Group Procurement collaborates with senior management and stakeholders, aligning procurement activities with the company’s objective for cost-efficiency, governance and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement and contract management across all business units, ensuring alignment with company-wide strategic objectives.
- Lead the development and enhancement of group-wide procurement policies and standards, with a focus on compliance with industry best practices and internal control.
- Centralize procurement activities to leverage group-wide synergies, resulting in improved contract terms, optimised costs, and strengthened supplier relationships.
- Establish strong collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business unit needs while maintaining group-wide cohesion.
- Direct high-level negotiations with suppliers and contractors, securing favorable contract terms and resolving disputes to protect the group’s interests while maintaining essential partnerships.
- Implement strategic sourcing initiatives and customized contracting strategies to secure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, supporting the company’s long-term sustainability and growth.
- Establish, meet, and report on KPIs within the procurement area to support strategic and operational goals related to all supply chain activities.
- Develop and implement a Vendor Development Program that improves supplier capabilities, reliability, and compliance with company standards.
- Manage and cultivate key supplier relationships to foster innovation, ensure cost-efficiency, and maintain a resilient supply chain aligned with the company’s goals.
- Collaborate with suppliers to encourage alignment with sustainability and ESG principles, driving value creation and strategic alignment.
- Design and enforce a supplier selection and performance evaluation framework, ensuring vendors meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Implement a vendor risk management program to monitor and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity for critical materials and services.
- Develop policies promoting ethical procurement, anti-bribery standards, and adherence to ESG principles across all procurement activities
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments, implementing controls to address potential vulnerabilities in procurement processes.
- Establish and enforce a comprehensive risk management and compliance framework, effectively reducing operational risks and mitigating potential issues.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes, by digitalizing process, utilizing analytics tools, resulting in improved decision-making, operational transparency, and overall process efficiency.
- Establish procurement standards and tools that improve data visibility, forecasting accuracy, and overall process efficiency.
- Oversee the group procurement budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
- Collaborate with finance on forecasting, budget planning, and supplier payment terms to ensure financial accountability.
- Plan the development and continuous learning within the team, fostering a culture meeting challenges of the dynamic energy market.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, promoting a collaborative environment and enhancing cross-functional communication.
- Support team skill-building and knowledge development in line with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
Degree holder (of any field) and or Master’s Degree qualification.Shall have at least minimum of 10 years of experience in material procurement, with at least 10 years in a management role.Shall have a minimum of 10 years of procurement and expediting experience in offshore hook-up and commissioning projects, as well as the Upstream sectorSeniority level
