Regional Sales Project Development Manager (APAC) (Compression)
The Regional Project Development Manager within the Siemens Energy Compression business is a key technical sales function responsible for driving sales and solution development. You will be responsible for achieving the segment sales targets and growth objective alongside the high‑performing regional sales team while identifying new business opportunities and developing technical solutions with key customers.
This role requires close partnership with our customer relationship team and serves as the conduit into bid management, engineering, and global product centres. You will create and develop regional service and aftermarket compression leads across all of Asia Pacific, develop technical solutions, cost models, and value‑proposed proposals while collaborating with our global operational team located in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific to deliver order‑entry growth and operational excellence. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Sales & Bid Management for the Siemens Energy segment business.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Lead the overall sales development process for complex projects to standard aftermarket services related to centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, geared compressors, and gas engines.
- Responsible for opportunity discovery & qualification; strategy setting & development.
- Identify & influence key decision makers and navigate complex internal and external selling environments.
- Drive service business growth across all core markets and portfolio including Modernization & Upgrades, Repair, Field Service, Parts, Controls, Digitalization, and Service Programs.
- Exercise solid business acumen to develop and articulate a unique winning value proposition while maintaining company growth and profit guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and support.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for successful implementation across the regional business.
- Responsible for forecasting all segment service business across the European regional territory – Salesforce funnel and accuracy / quality of forecasts.
- Lead handover process to the commercial and executing teams for every new project, including final Purchase Order review and capture, and leading / participating in all internal and external kick‑off meetings.
- Participate and potentially lead SE business growth initiatives as needed.
- Meet sales targets and earnings objectives while representing customer requirements.
- Monitor market and industry trend activity.
- Perform regular financial analysis and report on key performance indicators.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field preferred. Minimum 7 years of experience in technical sales, marketing, business development, or strategy in oil & gas, power generation, or industrial services sectors, with proven success in diverse markets.Strong knowledge of various compressors or industrial rotating equipment suppliers; prior experience with a major rotating equipment supplier is preferred.Strategically oriented with detailed knowledge of products, services, and markets of centrifugal, reciprocating, or geared compressors, and understanding of compressor performance & application principles.Compressor and system knowledge – experience in compressor engineering, including aero & mechanical design, coupled with comprehensive system knowledge to develop high‑level solutions for clients.Experience working with multinational organizations and in diverse cultural environments, demonstrating strong intercultural communication skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills, paired with the ability to develop and implement key deliverables on time and with high quality output.Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and comfortable presenting to internal & external senior leadership.Strong networking and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate stakeholders across hierarchy levels.Willingness to travel up to 50% within the region and internationally, as required.Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.Competence in PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, and Tableau tools preferred.Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States or specified region without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization.
