The Manager / Senior Manager for Expansion Approvals (International) serves as the central point of review for overseas site proposals submitted by Country Business Development (BD) Heads. The role ensures that each submission aligns with the company’s strategic, financial, and operational benchmarks before escalation to the Group COO for final approval. Acting as the gatekeeper, this role validates ROI, market viability, compliance with governance standards, and long-term sustainability, while ensuring consistency across all international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate overseas expansion proposals submitted by Country BD Heads
- Assess proposals against company benchmarks covering :
- a) Strategic fit and market potential
- b) Financial viability, including ROI and payback analysis
- c) Operational readiness and risk assessment
- d) Compliance with governance standards and expansion criteria
- Prepare structured recommendations and summaries for submission to the Group COO
- Work closely with BD Heads, Finance, Legal, and Operations to validate assumptions and strengthen proposals
- Ensure consistency, transparency, and discipline in the expansion approval process across international markets
- Support continuous improvement of evaluation frameworks, tools, and governance processes
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, or related field7–10 years of relevant experience in strategy, business development, investment evaluation, or governance (multinational exposure preferred)Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience in ROI modelling and market assessmentPrior involvement in expansion, M&A, or large-scale investment approvals a plusExcellent stakeholder engagement and cross-border collaboration skills
