POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the company's relationships with its key clients. This position entails acquiring and nurturing long-term relationships with key customers by understanding their needs.
Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and pursuing new business ideas and opportunities, converting them into sales or ongoing business initiatives. This includes maintaining service excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving client retention.
The ideal candidate will excel in building strong relationships with strategic customers, identifying their needs, and promoting our company's service offerings to achieve mutual satisfaction. The objective is to contribute to the sustainability and growth of our business for long-term success.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, negotiating contracts and securing business to achieve revenue growth. This includes but not limited to developing new programs, service offerings and winning new projects.
- Developing new clients for existing programs by identifying and target different segment of the markets.
- Develop sales pipeline by prospecting and engaging with prospective clients.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, new market segments and growth opportunities.
- Prepare reports, sales forecasts and maintain company's CRM system.
- Achieve sales / project targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain good relationships with existing clients and partners.
- Analyze competitors' activities and strategies and provide timely updates to the management team.
Project and Program Management
Coordinate internal resources and external parties, ensuring seamless project execution.Ensure client satisfaction through delivering exceptional service and addressing client needs promptly.Foster good working relationships with all project stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.Ensure timely delivery of projects, within scope and budget.Develop project scopes and objectives for new projects and ensure technical feasibility.Ensure effective resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution and delivery.Develop detailed project plans to monitor progress.Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.Perform risk management to minimize project risks.Establish and maintain relationships with third parties / vendors.Create and maintain comprehensive project / program documentation.Global Key Account Management
Gain a comprehensive understanding of key customer needs and requirements and develop a trust-based relationship with them to contribute to customer retention.Expand relationships with existing customers by consistently proposing solutions that align with their objectives.Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services to customers and oversee all deliveries with precision.Act as the primary communication link between key customers and internal teams.Resolve customer issues and concerns efficiently, handling feedback effectively to maintain trust and satisfaction.Play an integral role in generating new sales and business opportunities that foster long-term relationships with clients.Prepare regular progress reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.Expand market reach by identifying and acquiring new key clients globally.JOB REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in any discipline.Proven sales and business development experience in driving results and ROI at local, regional or national level. Experience in solution selling and / or consultancy experience will be an added advantage.Independent, proactive, self-motivated and a good team player.Customer-orientated, positive attitude and willingness to learn;Able to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment and possess a global outlook.Demonstrable experience in international trade in import / export, logistics or similar industries.Positive outlook and possess a creative mindset.Ability to operate effectively in a multi-channel multi-national environment, influencing and working in collaboration across cultures.Understands business implications of decisions, sales & profit and strategic goals (business acumen).Highly confident and competent in building relationships with customers across all industries, commercial decision-makers and high-level leaders from top companies.Good communication and presentation skills.Excellent negotiation skills.
