Objectives of the Position
- Steer and develop Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) implementation to operationalization with respective country leads and operational vendor managers, and maximize their value realized through close relationship and intensive collaboration.
- Establish visibility, transparency on different forwarding services on global categories across Asia Pacific
- Take care of service delivery management, service requests, structural and tactical escalation management.
- Define, monitor, analyze and rate service provider (LLP) performance against target KPI's, focus areas and SLA's for Asia Pacific import / export operations
- Safeguard logistics process knowledge and hence keep BASF in position to change providers
- Ensure the business process links between LLP and 3PL(s) and BASF internal functions
- Analyze and provide opportunities for improvement, optimization and effective management of LLP and 3PL managed, incl. structural improvements with business units / service provider
- To work and establish performance management covering Service KPI, Cost & Quality for the different Service Providers used by the Import Export Operations in the countries
- Support development of risk assessment as well as contingency plans, apply respective measures in collaboration with service providers
Main Tasks
Establish visibility / transparency of LLP across Asia Pacific and support country OVM’s / Import Export Teams on sharing of best practices on cost management, service scopes and performanceManagement of LLP performance and contract adherenceProvide input to the definition, review and update of KPI's, PI’s, and SLA's as well as target valuesConduct regular review meetings regarding LLP performance as well as participate in carrier / other LSP performance review where appropriateAlign and exchange with other OVM Managers to identify commonalities, e.g. in reoccurring issues, performance deficitsContinuous improvement of overall Import / Export management, carrier and service provider operationsDerive opportunities for improvement and optimization based on the evaluation of performance and service level agreementsRisk management of LLP partnership and overall logistics network in relation to import export scope of operationsSupport cost management of LLP and LSP services and involvement in global, regional projects and local initiativesEnsure LLP adherence to BASF standards, compliance procedures (regarding e.g. operations, cost, security, EHS, etc.), and to local, and international regulationRequirements
Education
Degree or above in international trade, engineering, business management. supply chain or related disciplineWorking Experience
Above 5 years working experience in logistics and / or import & export operation with some experienced in direct management of logistics service providerWorking experience in chemical industry preferred.Technical & Professional Knowledge
Experience in SAP preferred, Fluent written and verbal English for global trade communication, logical thinking and solutions orientated; experienced in supply chain dispute and challenge resolution; Expertise in Import / Export Management processes and procedures, Incoterms and export / import regulations preferred; Knowledge of IMDG, IATA, Supply Chain Processes, Transportation Management (Air, Maritime and surface) preferred; Hands on in MS Office applications – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
