Drafter (Transmission and Distribution)

To prepare and develop detailed technical drawings, layouts, and schematics for Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects, including high-voltage substations. The Drafter will ensure all drawings meet engineering standards, project requirements, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, revise, and maintain detailed engineering drawings for transmission lines and substations (e.g., 132kV, 275kV, 500kV systems).

Work closely with engineers to interpret design concepts and translate them into accurate technical drawings.

Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, industry codes, and safety standards.

Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation according to project guidelines.

Support site teams by providing updated drawings and technical clarifications when required.

Coordinate with consultants, clients, and internal departments to resolve drawing-related issues.

Participate in design review meetings and incorporate feedback into drawing updates.

Assist in preparing as-built drawings upon project completion.

Requirements

Diploma / Certificate in Drafting, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 2–3 years of drafting experience in the Transmission & Distribution sector.

Hands‑on experience with substation layout drawings (e.g., GIS / AIS substations).

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or equivalent CAD software.

Familiarity with electrical and civil T&D drawings such as SLDs, earthing layouts, cable routing, and structural details.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in high‑voltage (HV) and extra‑high‑voltage (EHV) substation projects.

Knowledge of TNB or utility drawing standards.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
