Account Executive - English Speaker (Local Malaysian)

About the Role : As our first Account Executive focussed on Asia, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business growth across the region. You’ll be responsible for prospecting, engaging mid‑market customers, and closing deals to expand Mailchimp’s presence. This role requires a strategic, consultative salesperson who can navigate complex client landscapes, understand customer needs, and articulate how Mailchimp’s solutions drive value. You will work closely with a Business Development Representative to build a pipeline and convert high‑quality leads into long‑term customers.
Responsibilities :
- Acquire and grow mid‑market customers across English‑speaking Asia.
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, including inbound qualification, discovery, value selling, and negotiations.
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to engage high‑value prospects in the region.
- Dissect and qualify prospects’ business goals to determine how Mailchimp can be a strategic investment for their growth.
- Maintain strong CRM hygiene and disciplined sales processes.
- Influence key stakeholders and drive deal success through consultative selling.
- Clearly articulate Mailchimp’s value proposition, translating product features into business impact.
- Develop a deep understanding of the martech industry, market trends, and competitors.
- Meet and exceed revenue, productivity, and quality metrics.
- Maintain a consistent and effective follow‑up strategy to convert leads, drive customer satisfaction, and expand accounts.
Qualifications :
5+ years of sales experience, preferably in SaaS, Martech, or a high‑growth tech environment.Proven track record of hunting new business, managing a pipeline, and exceeding quota.Experience with outbound and cold calling, consultative selling, and product demos.Strong knowledge of sales methodologies, prospecting strategies, and negotiation techniques.Ability to build and manage a strong sales pipeline from prospecting to close.Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and comfortable working independently in a new market.Seniority level : Associate
