Overview
Senior Marketing & Comms Business Partner playing in the field of digital transformation. This role acts as the primary financial partner to the commercial leadership team for the Malaysian business unit, influencing brand strategy, product launches, retail performance, and market growth. The position is high visibility and requires turning data into actionable business strategy.
Responsibilities
Own the Planning Cycle : Lead the end-to-end financial planning process, including annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range strategic planning for the Malaysian business unit.
Drive Commercial Insights : Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to translate strategic goals into measurable financial targets and operational plans.
P&L Management : Conduct variance analysis (Budget vs. Actual, Forecast vs. Actual), provide commentary and proactive recommendations to drive efficiency and profitability targets.
Evaluate Investments : Lead financial appraisal and post-mortem analyses of key initiatives (NPD, major marketing campaigns, and trade spend effectiveness).
Margin and Pricing Analysis : Develop financial models to analyze pricing, gross margins, and cost structures for profitability and competitiveness.
Business Intelligence : Develop KPIs and dashboards, leveraging BI tools to monitor daily performance across retail outlets and distribution.
Financial Governance & Process Improvement : Ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity; drive FP&A process improvements through technology.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is a strong plus.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive FP&A or Commercial Finance experience, with at least 2 years in a management or senior analytical role.
Experience in FMCG or Retail with understanding of trade spend, inventory dynamics, and multi-channel profitability is a strong plus.
Exceptional financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
Proven ability to act as a proactive business partner who challenges the status quo and influences commercial decision-making.
