Our client, a world-class international logistics company, is seeking a driven, high-impact Head of Business Development to accelerate growth, expand market share, and drive revenue across Malaysia.
About the Role
As Head of Business Development, you will own the commercial strategy for Malaysia, identifying new business opportunities, developing key client relationships, and leading high-performing sales teams. You’ll be instrumental in positioning the company as a partner of choice for end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions in a dynamic, fast-growing market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow the company’s footprint in Malaysia’s freight forwarding and logistics sector
- Identify, target, and secure new clients across industries : manufacturing, FMCG, oil & gas, e-commerce, automotive, and more
- Build, nurture, and expand relationships with key decision-makers, multinational corporations, and industry stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales and account management professionals to achieve ambitious targets
- Collaborate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to deliver seamless, client-focused solutions
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform commercial strategy and value proposition
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to enhance brand visibility and market presence
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7 years’ experience in business development, sales, or commercial management within freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chainDemonstrated success in winning major accounts and delivering revenue growth in Malaysia’s logistics marketStrong network with shippers, consignees, and industry partners across Malaysia and Southeast AsiaExcellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skillsProven ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, manage pipelines, and close complex dealsBachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA is an advantage)Bahasa Malaysia proficiency and / or local market knowledge is highly desirableWhy Join?
