Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the entire ocean department to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Support and guide customer service teams to enhance their product knowledge and service delivery.
- Ensure the provision of top-quality services to internal and external customers.
- Promote self-development and coordinate with relevant parties to arrange ongoing internal and external training / workshops for team members.
- Lead initiatives in product development to attract new business opportunities.
- Implement strategies for customer retention to maintain and grow the customer base.
- Assist the procurement team in negotiating local deal rates with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage internal Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and network rate inquiries.
- Establish and maintain relationships with shipping lines, sub-contractors, and both internal and external customers.
- Build and nurture strong rapport with key stakeholders.
- Drive customer service and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Encourage a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Ensure proper administration and management of all aspects of the Ocean Department.
- Provide assistance and support to the District Manager as required, including taking on additional responsibilities when necessary.
