Procurement and Planning Manager (Semiconductor Industry)

Overview

Procurement and Planning Manager in the semiconductor industry responsible for end-to-end production planning and strategic procurement in a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end production planning for in-house and outsourced jobs to ensure timely delivery and optimal capacity utilization.
• Monitor job releases and work order prioritization based on customer deadlines and available resources.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Quality teams to align delivery timelines and order specifications.
• Lead cross-department teams to manage workload surges and expedite manpower and material planning to support scaling operations.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies and a procurement framework to ensure a sustainable and scalable system.
• Build and maintain a network of direct machining sub-suppliers, vendors for materials, treatments, standard components, and tooling.
• Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through structured reviews and KPI tracking (cost, quality, delivery).
• Collaborate with Engineering to optimize costing and identify cost-down opportunities for both in-house production and outsourced processes.
• Coordinate with the Logistics Team to manage shipping, import / export documentation, and monitor freight vendor performance.
• Oversee and track inventory levels in physical storage locations and in the ERP system.
• Identify and implement logistics cost-saving initiatives without compromising delivery reliability or operational efficiency.
• Lead and manage the Procurement, Planning and Logistics team to achieve departmental KPIs.
• Improve internal processes of the department by utilizing the company’s ERP system and advocate the use of ERP, MRP, and digital tools to streamline planning and procurement.
• Support ISO compliance and maintain accurate planning and procurement documentation.
