Accounts & Finance Manager | Established Retail Company | KL
This future employer is a growing, established retail company with strong presence in the local market. In line with expansion, they are seeking a reliable Accounts & Finance Manager to lead their finance department. You will oversee the full spectrum of financial operations, ensuring compliance, while partnering with the management to support the company's growth.
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage day-to-day finance activities including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and cash management.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Oversee inventory accounting and cost management to maintain healthy margins and reliable financial data.
Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure compliance with statutory and audit standards.
Budgeting & Performance Monitoring
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes in coordination with department heads.
Review and analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights for improvement.
Track and present key financial and operational metrics to management.
Cash Flow & Treasury
Oversee daily cash flow, collections, and supplier payments to ensure strong liquidity management.
Manage store-level cash handling, reconciliations, and banking processes.
Business & Operational Support
Collaborate with operations and merchandising teams to optimise stock levels, pricing, and promotions.
Support financial planning for new store openings, including capital expenditure and cost tracking.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with taxation, statutory, and audit requirements.
Lead external and internal audit activities and implement improvements based on recommendations.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor the finance team, ensuring clear responsibilities across all finance functions.
Enhance team capabilities through training, coaching, and process automation initiatives.
Partner closely with senior management to provide strategic financial guidance and decision support.
Qualifications to Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial analysis, P&L management, and business partnering.
Possess analytical, problem-solving, and Excel skills.
Experience in Retail, FMCG, or Hospitality industries are highly advantageous.
Hands‑on, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
