Job Title : Account Executive
Location : Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Reports to : Manager / Director
Salary Range : Around RM 4,000 (commensurate with experience)
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Account Executive to own the full-cycle accounting functions for our dynamic distribution business. This role is pivotal in maintaining our financial health and works hand-in-hand with our Supply Chain & Sales Coordinator to ensure seamless operations, accurate inventory reporting, and timely financial closure.
Responsibilities
- Manage full sets of accounts, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL).
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Handle daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with Malaysian financial regulations.
- Inventory & Cost Accounting Support : Work closely with the Supply Chain & Sales Coordinator to perform monthly stock valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations.
- Reconcile inventory records in the accounting system (e.g., Xero) with reports from the 3PL warehouse.
- Process and verify supplier invoices against Purchase Orders (POs) and delivery records.
- Support in analyzing and reconciling logistics and freight costs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Liaise with the Supply Chain team to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Provide financial data and insights to support operational decision-making.
- Assist with annual audits and other financial related tasks as required.
Requirements
Education : Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting or a related field. Partial professional qualification (e.g., LCCI, CAT, ACCA) is a plus.Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience handling full sets of accounts. Experience in trading, distribution, or SME environments is highly advantageous.Skills & Knowledge :Proficiency in Accounting Software : Hands-on experience with Xero, AutoCount, SQL Accounting, or similar software is essential.Strong Analytical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data analysis and reporting.Meticulous Attention to Detail : A high level of accuracy in processing financial data.Collaborative Mindset : Must be a team player able to work effectively with the non-finance operations team.Language : Fluent in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.Working Conditions
