ASSISTANT FINANCE MANAGER (TREASURY & REPORTING)
Manage daily cash flow, including cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity management.
Execute fund transfers, monitor bank balances, and ensure optimal cash utilization.
Manage banking relationships and negotiate banking facilities and services.
Oversee foreign exchange exposure and execute hedging strategies to mitigate financial risk.
Monitor and manage the company's inter-company loans and financing arrangements.
Ensure compliance with internal treasury policies and procedures.
2. Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, providing insightful commentary on key drivers and trends.
Perform cost analysis, profitability analysis, and other ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions.
Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditure proposals, and their potential ROI.
Support the preparation of the annual budget and periodic rolling forecasts.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
Coordinate and prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other relevant authorities for annual audits and tax computations.
Ensure all reporting is in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
4. Ad-hoc & Process Improvement
Lead or participate in finance-related projects, such as system implementations or process automation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Support the wider finance team during the month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA) is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a similar senior / assistant manager role.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills :
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling) is a must.
Experience with Autocount is highly advantageous.
In-depth knowledge of MFRS and Malaysian tax regulations.
Analytical & Problem-Solving : Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin. Ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Meticulous & Proactive : High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Leadership : Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and potentially supervise junior staff.
