Overview of Position
We are seeking for a visionary and dynamic Head of Marketing & Branding to architect the next chapter of the MG story in Malaysia. You will be the ultimate guardian of our brand, responsible for crafting and executing a fully integrated marketing strategy that drives brand desire, market penetration, and sales growth. This role demands a leader who can seamlessly blend data‑driven digital performance with big‑picture brand building, creating memorable campaigns that resonate in a highly competitive market. You will own the brand's voice, look, and feel across all touchpoints.
Brand Strategy & Stewardship
Develop and own the long‑term brand strategy, positioning, and narrative for MG Motor in Malaysia. Define and enforce brand guidelines across all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and customer experience. Conduct ongoing market research and brand tracking to measure brand health, awareness, and perception.
Integrated Marketing Leadership
Develop and execute 360° marketing campaigns for vehicle launches, brand initiatives, and seasonal promotions, integrating ATL, BTL, and digital channels for maximum impact. Lead the strategic planning and allocation of the marketing budget, ensuring optimal ROI across all activities. Oversee the creation of all marketing assets, from digital content and social media to print collateral and TVC, working with internal teams and agency partners.
Digital Marketing
Spearhead the digital marketing strategy, including performance marketing (SEM, SEO, Programmatic), social media strategy, and content marketing. Enhance MG's online customer journey, from initial awareness on digital platforms to configuration and lead generation on the MG website. Leverage data and analytics to continuously optimize campaigns, improve lead quality, and reduce cost‑per‑acquisition.
Public Relations & Communications
Oversee the PR and communications strategy, managing agency partners to secure positive media coverage and manage the brand's reputation. Develop and manage a robust influencer and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategy.
Team Leadership & Agency Management
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high‑performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence. Manage and cultivate relationships with external agency partners (Creative, Media, Digital, PR) to ensure deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. An MBA is a strong plus.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior marketing leadership role.
Proven record in the automotive industry is highly preferred; candidates from luxury goods, tech, or telco with a proven track record are welcomed.
Experience in company level marketing budget planning.
A strong portfolio of integrated, successful marketing campaigns.
