Overview
To review client technical requisition / specifications / datasheets, ASME code compliances during bidding phase and re-checking post PO stage.
To assist sales / project / QC / procurement / production team on technical advice on mechanical aspect. Support equipment technical enquiries and involved in skid fabrication and FAT.
To guide draftsman in material selection / producing GA and fabrication drawings (3D and 2D) for static equipment (heater / pressure vessel / skid package).
To prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and key-in into system for purchasing process.
To assist on producing project procedures, material purchasing technical specification, material requisition, preparation of Mechanical data sheet (Valve, Strainer, TRV, Pumps)
To review design calculation / drawings and documentations provided by vendors / engineering consultant for project and ASME code compliances.
To communicate with internal department (procurement / production / QC) to ensure requirement of purchasing / fabrication is understood.
To communicate with external department (Authorized Inspector / client) to ensure ASME code / project requirements are met.
To review return comments from client / AI and to provide feedback in-line with scope of supply.
To update required documentation for ISO9001, U-stamp & NB compliance from mechanical aspect.
Preparing weight estimation for skids and reviewing project specifications and preparing valve and static equipment datasheets, line list, valve list, etc.
Reviewing and checking all fabrication drawings from subcontractors, such as piping isometric, skid structural base and platform, pipe support, skid lifting arrangement drawings, footprint drawings to ensure conformance to project requirements.
Reviewing and checking static equipment drawings from vendors to ensure conformance to project requirements.
Preparing P&ID, preparing piping and structure 3D layout drawing, plot plans, footprint drawing and piping BOM.
Clarifying technical issues with client. Coordinating and providing guidance to sub-vendor, designer and proposal to solve the problems.
Reviewing piping stress analysis report and structural analysis report from subcontractors and reviewing pressure vessel calculation report from vendors.
Preparing purchase specification and RFQ conducts bid evaluation for mechanical equipment / valves & other mechanical items in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.
Conducting staged inspections at vendor’s workshop and inspection of received goods.
REQUIREMENTS
Min. Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from recognized College or University.
Min. 6-8 years working experience in Oil & Gas Industry in related field.
Familiar with Solidworks and AutoCAD will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge in static equipment and rotating equipment and familiar with ASME Sect. VIII Div. 1; Div. 2 will be an advantage.
Meticulous, organise, independent and able to work in fast-paced environment.
Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and review design calculation for static equipment.
Familiar with international codes and standards / international EPC contractors and end users.
Knowledge in material selection / welding; NDT will be an advantage.
Knowledgeable in operating PVElite / COMPASS and CEASAR II or equivalent and familiar with FEA software is highly recommended.
Knowledgeable in welding processes, material properties and mechanical construction.
Experience with stress calculation, in flow profile calculation and pressure drop calculation.
Min Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years relevant experience in Piping 3D Modelling software in oil & gas, petrochemical or offshore projects.
Experience in static equipment, piping, structural engineering, skid design and fabrication.
Conversant with ASME Sect. II is mandatory. Other code such as PD5500, WRC 107 / 297, EN13445, NORSOK are optional.
Able to communicate well in English and Malay language.
