Engineering Lead – Wealth Lending Technology

A leading global bank in Malaysia is seeking a highly experienced VP Engineering Lead to spearhead the technical strategy and delivery of its Wealth Lending platforms. This role is critical to the bank’s transformation agenda, focused on building scalable, secure, and customer-centric lending solutions tailored to affluent and high-net-worth clients.

What You'll Do

Lead engineering squads to deliver robust, compliant solutions for wealth lending products, including personal financing, credit lines, and secured lending.

Architect and implement end-to-end technical solutions, including system integrations and vendor platform implementations.

Collaborate with Subdomain Tech Leads, Product Owners, and Release Managers to align delivery with business strategy.

Drive modernization through microservices architecture, service reusability, and platform scalability.

Oversee technical governance, ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture, regulatory standards, and SDLC compliance.

Serve as a senior escalation point for technical challenges, supporting audit, risk, and compliance engagements.

What We're Looking For

Strong hands-on experience with XML DB programming and Oracle database technologies, especially within CB Speed platform logic and computation.

Proven expertise in cloud-native development, microservices architecture, and modern DevOps practices.

Deep domain knowledge in Wealth Lending or Retail Lending, with experience in platforms serving affluent clients.

Proficient in Agile and SAFe methodologies, CI / CD pipelines, and technical documentation.

Ability to translate complex technical designs into business-friendly language for cross-functional stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

10+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture, with strong exposure to wealth lending or retail credit systems.

Demonstrated leadership in managing multiple engineering squads and delivering enterprise-grade banking platforms.

Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with proven stakeholder management experience.

Skilled in vendor evaluation, RFP processes, and technical risk mitigation.
