Alipay+ Malaysia Business Development Lead
As the Business Development Lead for Alipay+ in Malaysia, you will drive the expansion of our Global Unified E-wallet Gateway solutions, with a strong focus on acquiring and merchant solutions. You will own the full business development lifecycle, from identifying new opportunities and building strategic partnerships to managing key accounts and executing go-to-market plans. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of the payments, e-commerce, and digital solutions landscape in Malaysia.
What You’ll Do :
- Own Business Results : Accountable for the revenue results of the business in Malaysia.
- Lead Strategic Growth : Drive the adoption of Alipay+ digital payment solutions across Malaysia merchants. Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities with a focus on increasing sales volume and merchant adoption.
- Grow the team : Coach and groom junior BD managers day to day. Build a pipeline of future leaders.
- Build Key Partnerships : Identify, onboard, and manage strategic partners, including national QR networks, banks, non-bank acquirers, and marketing partners to expand the Alipay+ acceptance network and drive business growth.
- Manage Key Accounts : Serve as the primary account manager for large merchants, working closely with accounts’ C-suite. Develop and execute creative strategies to deepen relationships and increase the usage of Alipay+ solutions.
- Drive Sales and Execution : Lead the end-to-end sales process, including responding to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. Prepare and deliver compelling pitches and presentations to potential partners and key accounts.
- Collaborate and Connect : Work closely with cross-functional teams in Malaysia, Singapore and China, aligning on business goals and market strategies. You will also be the main point of contact for local businesses and government agencies.
- Market and Promote : Support local marketing and public relations initiatives to enhance the Alipay+ brand and visibility. Coordinate sales activities with marketing campaigns to maximize their effectiveness.
- Analyze and Optimize : Track and report on key business metrics regularly. Use data to inform business strategy, identify new opportunities, and solve challenges.
Requirements
A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with a strong background in digital payments, e-commerce, O2O.Strong track record of growing business in a highly competitive landscape.Proven experience in managing key accounts and a deep understanding of the merchant acquiring business.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and maintaining strong client and partner relationships.A highly analytical and strategic mindset, with the ability to navigate complex business challenges and execute tactical plans effectively.The resourcefulness to identify opportunities and solve problems creatively.Strong growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity.A Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.Proficiency in Mandarin, both spoken and written, is a plus.Seniority level
