Assistant Trade Marketing Manager (FMCG) - Petaling Jaya
Major Responsibilities
Channel Strategy : Establish channel-specific strategies and execute plans to achieve defined business objectives.
Data-Driven Insights : Identify business opportunities and challenges by analyzing sales data, customer off-take data, retail audits (Nielsen, Kantar), and shopper research.
Shopper-Centric Solutions : Generate compelling shopper stories and utilize insights to develop winning category strategies and actionable in-store solutions.
Performance Monitoring : Continuously monitor channel and brand performance against the business plan, developing alternative strategies as needed.
Market Intelligence : Proactively identify changes in the FMCG landscape and competitive pressures to modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
Campaign Development : Collaborate with the Brand Manager and Sales team to develop brand-building activities, promotional campaigns, and key selling points for new launches.
Product Launches : Prepare and implement trade launch plans for new products, including pre- and post-launch evaluations. Be involved in the new product listing process to ensure trade requirements are incorporated.
In-Store Excellence : Recommend clear promotional guidelines based on shopper understanding and ensure timely delivery of Point of Sale Materials (POSM) to the sales team for implementation.
Cross-Functional Partnership : Develop strong working relationships with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to enhance business performance and ensure critical information is communicated effectively.
Budget Management
Financial Oversight : Optimize the trade promotion budget to maximize return on investment (ROI) and spending efficiency through detailed analysis and strategic cost-improvement initiatives.
Relationships
Report directly to the Senior Manager, Customer Marketing and Sales Effectiveness
Communicate and co-ordinate with Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and Customer Development team based in Malaysia
Qualification / Experience
Minimum 5 years of Trade Marketing experience in FMCG
Bachelor degree with major in marketing or business administration
Good understanding of FMCG dynamic in Malaysia retail environment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Pro-active & self-motivated team players with multi-level within the organization
High sense of urgency
Analytical mindset
Good user knowledge of MS Office PowerPoint, Excel & Word
Familiar with Nielsen and Kantar or equivalent
Time management and ability to handle multiple projects at same time
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Planning and organizing, prior experience in managing changes
Initiative, self-discipline and result-oriented
Proven ability to train and motivate people
