The ideal candidate for this position will provide project management for planning, and organizing all aspects of the task related to the relevant projects. As part of this role, the manager will have to oversee the works of his peers acting as the point of contact to handle any issues regarding the project.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage all post-project interior fit-out works, including both on-site construction and off-site fabrication.
- Ensure all works are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with quality, health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) standards.
- Provide hands-on leadership to site supervisors, subcontractors, and workers, fostering a positive and results-oriented team culture.
- Technical Oversight & Value Engineering
- Apply strong technical knowledge of M&E scopes, construction methodologies, and fit-out workflows.
- Propose value engineering solutions to optimize project costs, minimize risks, improve scheduling, and reduce potential defects.
- Interpret and review layout plans, construction drawings, and bills of quantities (BOQ) with attention to accuracy and feasibility.
- Cost & Contract Management
- Work closely with the Project Manager (PM) and Quantity Surveyor (QS) to ensure cost control, budget monitoring, and project efficiency.
- Track and manage variations, amendments, work orders, and site instructions, ensuring proper documentation, justification, and vendor agreement.
- Support in vendor claim verification, price negotiations, and cost settlements to maximize project profitability.
- Review and verify contractor invoices, unit rates, quantities, and claims, ensuring proper documentation for interim and final accounts.
- Project Planning & Documentation
- Develop comprehensive project schedules, allocate tasks, and track milestones to ensure smooth execution.
- Prepare, maintain, and update ISO-compliant project documentation (ISO 9001, ISO 37001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Oversee procurement planning, monitoring of material deliveries, and coordination with suppliers to avoid delays.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Act as the key liaison with consultants, architects, project management consultants (PMC), and clients during all project phases.
- Provide technical input during tenders and coordinate submissions for approvals.
- Coordinate site meetings, progress reporting, and ensure alignment between stakeholders.
- Site & Quality Management
- Conduct regular site inspections, validate shop drawings, and verify as-built conditions (structural, architectural, M&E).
- Manage and coordinate site measurements, mock-up submissions, and material samples for client / consultant approval.
- Implement site safety measures, hoarding, signage, and protection works to comply with statutory and ISO requirements.
- Ensure strict quality control in workmanship, materials, and finishing standards.
Job Requirements
Minimum 5–8 years of proven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Supervisor in interior fit-out projects .Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management (preferred).Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle fit-out projects from inception to completion, including cost, time, and quality management.Strong background in M&E coordination , contract administration, and project documentation.Familiarity with local authorities’ regulations , building codes, and construction industry standards in Malaysia.#J-18808-Ljbffr
