Cruise Human Resources Specialist

Overview

Position Title : Human Resources Specialist

Target Markets : Asia

This is a remote role with the option to be on-site. The business is based in Malaysia, and the role focuses on cruise operations across Asia. The role is a 4-month, full-time contract, ideal for someone who has managed HR across Deck, Engine, and Hotel departments in a cruise environment. Remote work is available with the option to be based onshore in Johor if preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting cruise related HR policies and procedures across Deck, Engine, and Hotel departments.
• Work with the team to manage end-to-end recruitment, contracting, and onboarding of seafarers and hospitality crew.
• Coordinate with international manning agencies to ensure timely and compliant crew mobilization.
• Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC, flag state, and other maritime regulations.
• Manage crew documentation, medicals, visas, and training certifications.
• Support development of compensation structures, payroll processes, and rotation schedules.
• Work closely with leadership and local HR to align processes with global cruise industry best practices.
