As Manager, Inventory and Logistics Performance, you will manage and optimize inventory and logistics with a strong focus on cost control and project management. You will drive initiatives to reduce costs, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure inventory levels meet the company’s needs without excess. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management with proven experience in project management.
Your Day-to-Day
- Cost Control and Optimization : Lead and manage inventory and logistics-related projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing service levels.
- Project Planning : Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Progress Monitoring : Monitor project progress, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
- Inventory Management : Oversee inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Best Practices : Implement inventory management best practices, including just-in-time (JIT) inventory systems and demand forecasting.
- Cross-Functional Alignment : Coordinate with sales forecasts and production schedules to align inventory strategies with business needs.
- Logistics Operations : Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Process Improvements : Implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Compliance : Ensure safety and regulatory standards are met across all logistics activities.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting : Develop and implement KPIs to monitor inventory and logistics performance;
- Analyze data and prepare detailed reports on cost savings, project outcomes, and overall performance;
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership : Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and finance teams to align strategies with business goals; provide leadership and guidance to the inventory and logistics teams.
Your Know-How
A tertiary qualification or equivalent.Proven experience in cost control, project management, and process improvement.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.Proficiency in project management tools and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.Effective communication and leadership abilities.PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) are advantageous.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and cost-effectiveness.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach to challenges.Details
