Role Summary
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and operations of multiple outlets within the assigned area. This role focuses on leading and supporting Branch Managers to achieve sales targets, ensure compliance with company standards, and deliver exceptional customer service. The position requires frequent travel across outlets in the Klang Valley and may involve travel to outstation branches as Petsmore expands.
Key Responsibilities
Branch & People Management
- Lead, coach, and support Branch Managers to meet outlet KPIs, including sales, service quality, and operational excellence.
- Monitor and review branch performance, providing guidance and corrective action where needed.
- Ensure all outlets adhere to company SOPs, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Identify training needs and support staff development in collaboration with HR.
Operational Excellence
Conduct regular outlet visits to assess operations, merchandising, stock levels, and customer experience.Ensure outlets maintain high standards of cleanliness, grooming, and product presentation.Review and address operational challenges faced by branch teams.Implement initiatives to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.Monitor sales trends and provide recommendations to improve performance.Assist in developing local marketing and promotional activities in collaboration with the marketing team.Support the rollout of new business initiatives and projects across outlets.Travel & Expansion Support
Travel frequently within Klang Valley outlets for supervision and support.Be prepared for outstation travel as the company expands to other regions.Assist in new outlet setup, opening, and training of branch staff.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Sales Performance : Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets by branches under area coverage.Customer Service Quality : Outlet customer satisfaction ratings and feedback.Operational Compliance : Percentage of outlets meeting audit and SOP compliance standards.Staff Development : Branch staff turnover rates and training completion levels.Outlet Profitability : Improvement in margin and cost control at branch level.Inventory Accuracy : Stock variance levels and shrinkage control within acceptable limits.Branch Readiness : Timeliness and quality of support for new outlet openings or expansions.Qualifications & Experience
Diploma / Degree in Business Administration, Management, Retail, or related field.Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in retail operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or multi-outlet management role.Experience in pet retail, FMCG, or service industry will be an added advantage.Must possess own transport and be willing to travel extensively.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage multiple teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to a dynamic retail environment.Seniority level
