We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support procurement, cost monitoring and control on construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation and Planning : Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for various construction projects. Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify materials, labor and equipment requirements. Collaborate with design teams and consultants to ensure accurate cost assessments during the project's planning phase. Able to do quantification and costing using software such as Glodon or equivalent.
- Cost Control and Budgeting : Monitor and control project costs throughout the entire construction process. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to ensure the project remains within budget. Prepare cost reports, variance analysis, and forecasts for project stakeholders.
- Procurement and Tendering : Manage the procurement process for materials and services, adhering to relevant regulations and best practices. Prepare tender documentation, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Contract Administration : Administer and manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Assess and negotiate variations, claims, and disputes related to contracts. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and applicable laws and regulations.
- Risk Management : Identify and mitigate potential risks related to costs, schedules, and contractual obligations. Implement strategies to manage and minimize risks that may impact project outcomes.
- Value Engineering : Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the quantity surveying team.
- Reporting : Assist the senior in tasks assigned.
Qualifications
Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Quantity Surveying or Building Technology.Skills & Abilities
Costing, estimating, knowledge of pre and post contract activities.Experience
