Strategic Growth & Revenue Generation
The VP is responsible for aggressively meeting and exceeding sales targets. This involves a strategic blend of active pursuit and relationship leverage :
- Pioneering New Business : Systematically target and acquire large, high-yield accounts through executive-level referrals and proactive, strategized cold-calling campaigns.
- Driving High-Value Wins : Lead the formal response process for large-scale Requests for Proposals (RFPs) , developing custom solutions that address the client's most complex risk challenges.
- Targeted Outreach Planning : Construct and deploy sophisticated marketing initiatives, translating overarching business concepts into targeted plans for attracting new, strategic client accounts.
Market Leadership & Client Stewardship
Beyond sales, the role requires deep market engagement and dedication to client retention :
Market Intelligence Hub : Maintain an expert awareness of the competitive landscape, industry-wide trends, major market occurrences, and competitor positioning to proactively identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.Insight Generation : Under minimal guidance, produce comprehensive due diligence reports and presentations that include critical qualitative and quantitative assessments to support senior leadership in securing major deals.Professional Representation : Actively cultivate and expand a professional network by representing the firm at key industry conferences and professional organization events.Relationship Advocacy : Serve as a key conduit for client feedback, collecting deep insights into relationship satisfaction. Provide concise context and actionable suggestions to senior colleagues to ensure long-term account satisfaction and retention.Core Experience & Industry Depth
Degree holder with at least 8-10 years of dedicated Business Development experience.Crucially, this experience should be rooted in Financial Services or the Insurance Broking industry , demonstrating immediate domain credibility and knowledge of complex risk environments.Key Attributes for Success
