ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Business Development Manager, drives growth by securing partnerships, expanding markets, and increasing transaction in the competitive markets, fast-paced remittance and financial services sector.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the agent network in the assigned markets, with a strong focus on growing the Ria Outbound business with global agents / partners
- Constantly looking for business development opportunities whilst relationship managing existing client base.
- Hunt for new agent partners & expand the network across digital and retail channels
- Provide a friendly, proactive service built on an in-depth understanding of the agent’s business, needs and requirements.
- Pursue service improvement opportunities and address service gaps, as necessary
- Drive agent growth by managing initiatives around pricing, marketing, promotions, seasonal campaigns, system enhancements, operations, IT integration, compliance, agent & customer service, etc.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders in pursuing marketing activities – regional & global marketing, correspondents teams, finance, operations, etc.
- Work with Regional Director, Business Development and the APAC Managing Director grow to key send markets in Asia – Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia while also developing new emerging markets
- Spearhead commercial discussions with Outbound partners and lead & manage all internal processes like financial modelling, business case preparations, system development, set-up with operations / compliance / finance, etc.
- Keep abreast of all relevant regulatory, legal, technology, and legal developments in the rapidly evolving cross-border remittance and payments industry.
- Monthly and quarterly sales and business performance reporting. Thoroughly analyse market & agent performance and proactively recommend growth initiatives to optimize growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Regional Business Development team based in Malaysia and work with Ria APAC teams to grow intra-Asia corridors
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3 years of experience in enterprise business development, spanning banking, fintech, and cross-border payments.Results-driven mindset delivering new, high-potential partnerships.You strategically analyze customer needs to deliver the proper solutions and can identify the need for change, pivoting to customize, design, and drive solutions in your sales strategy and approach when necessary.A strong track record of consistently achieving / exceeding sales targets, generating new deals, growing a pipeline, and delivering on revenue and gross profit goals.Communicate and influence effectively with proven experience successfully collaborating cross-functionally to execute deals.You are a champion for the internal partner and develop strong relationships with key internal colleagues to ensure a proactive approach to closing deals.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Strong attention to details to track initiatives, projects, and deliverables.Self-starter that aims for continuous improvement.You operate with high ethics and integrity, consistently committed to the organization's vision, values, and goals.Proficiency in modern tools of trade – Microsoft Teams / Applications, Teleconferencing, Web / Digital Media PlatformsEnglish proficiency. Additional Asian language could be a distinct advantage (Mandarin / Korean / Japanese).A bachelor's Degree or an MBA is preferred.Located in Kuala Lumpur with occasional need to travel.PERKS & BENEFITS
