Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Lead and manage daily factory operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity, and equipment reliability.
Implement continuous improvement programs to reduce downtime, enhance quality, and optimize yield.
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environment, and quality standards (MSPO, RSPO, ISCC, ISO, SEDEX, GMP, Halal).
Workforce & Labour Management
Oversee manpower planning for factory operations, drive site talent retention program.
Being a chairperson in DI on worker discipline across multiple factories.
Monitor and control overtime (OT) hours to balance operational needs with cost efficiency.
Drive employee site engagement, on job skill training, and upskilling to build a competent and motivated workforce.
Maintain strong industrial relations and compliance with labour laws and regulations.
Foster a high-performance culture, emphasizing safety, accountability and teamwork.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws and maintain good industrial relations.
Financial, Cost & Budgeting Management
Lead and prepare budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning for all factories.
Monitor operating costs, ensuring tight control of production costs, maintenance expenses, labour expenses, and production efficiency to ensure profitability.
Implement cost-control systems and conduct variance analysis to identify improvement areas.
Implement financial monitoring systems to track profitability, operational KPIs, and cost reduction initiatives.
Conduct variance analysis, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective measures.
Provide accurate and timely financial and operational reports to board and shareholders.
Strategic Growth & Sustainability
Align operations and marketing with the Group’s long-term growth strategies.
Identify and drive new opportunities for efficiency, downstream integration, and renewable energy expansion.
Develop strategies to maximize resource utilization and minimize waste (Zero-Waste / Green Energy initiatives).
Champion sustainability initiatives and ESG compliance in line with global standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline (MBA preferred).
At least 10 years in the General Manager role, as senior leadership with proven success in factory operations, financial management, workforce control and business growth.
12–15 years of progressive experience in palm oil, renewable energy, or large-scale manufacturing industries.
Strong background in marketing, sales strategy, and business development will be an added advantage.
Strong track record in improving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and labour productivity.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (MSPO, RSPO, ISCC, ESG) is an advantage.
Must have deep understanding of sustainability frameworks (MSPO, RSPO, ISCC, ESG) to ensure that palm oil is produced in a sustainable, environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable.
