Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation of best-in-class operational efficiency of the PGP Operation function through continuous productivity improvement and overall cost effectiveness, with the aim of enhancing customer service & safety.

Safety Implementation Plan (SIP)

  • Proactively works in partnership with (Front-In-Line) FIL Supervisors to share best safety practice and identify training gaps.
  • At all times, carries out job functions reflecting compliance to Linde behavioral safety philosophy by participating in regular meetings involving in-country technical services teams.
  • Proactively works in partnership with Production Manager & Engineer and Supervisors in other streams of Operations to :

    • Identify gaps between actual conditions and SIP.

  • Propose improvement programs, including adjustments where appropriate.
  • Share best safety practices and promote them to the team.
  • Support the implementation of regional Best Operating Practice at the site level; ensure all operators fully understand the concepts.
  • Ensures all people in production areas are trained and qualified for their positions.

    • Production Strategies Implementation

  • Works with Production Manager / Engineers and Supervisors to assess desired against current PSO and develop detailed improvement plan.
  • Identifies opportunities and proposes improvement plans to Production Supervisor to close gaps between current and desired.
  • Monitors and reports implementation progress on a regular basis.
  • Holds regular meetings with other platforms both local and regional levels (distribution, CSC, Supply chain) to ensure delivery of PSO.

    • Day to Day Activity

  • Identify and resolve quality related issues on COP cylinders & PCC.
  • Ensure compliance in managing & handling of incoming & outgoing COP cylinders / PCC, covering asset registration & tracking.
  • Support Production Engineer & Supervisor in identifying risks, mitigating and proposing methods to eliminate risks related to COP cylinders & PCC products.
  • Feedback & analyze actual versus plan estimates to Production Planner and National Supply Chain Planner; identify gaps for continuous improvement related to COP cylinders & PCC product supply chain.
  • Lead & provide support to Production team on inventory planning & stock count.

    • Implementation of Cost Improvement Programmes

  • Works with production manager & engineer to identify cost improvement opportunities and provides inputs on the strategy.
  • Works with engineer & supervisors to ensure proper implementation of plan.
  • Communicates regularly and receives feedback from other related departments, brainstorming solutions at local level and inputting to production management platform team.
  • Works closely with enabling functions such as HR, SHEQ, IM and Finance for support in delivering productivity target.

    • Implementation of Financial Plan

  • Provides input to production manager in setting the annual budget.
  • Assists Production Manager / Engineer in collecting data relevant for setting annual budget.
  • Assists Production Engineer & Supervisor in controlling costs to meet the budget.
  • Carries out adequate risk assessment for production activities.
  • Ensures all production activities meet Linde safety, quality and environmental standards and national legislative requirements.

    • Competency Development

  • Ensures placement of competent employees on the production site.
  • Determines capability gaps within the production organisation and develops processes to fill the gaps.
  • Succession planning in production management team.

    • Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing or Industrial)
  • 2 years’ working experience in a similar role or capacity.
