Senior Manager, Shariah Business Advisory

Location : Menara AmBank, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

Responsibilities :

• To perform effective shariah advisory and compliance review on Wholesale Banking , Business Banking and Retail Banking financing activities to avoid shariah non-compliant.
• Provide advice to stakeholders on Shariah matters including related to Islamic financing products and documentation.
• Guide stakeholders to comply with Shariah resolutions by Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia and the Bank's Shariah Committee, including related regulatory policies and internal policies / guides / manuals.
• Conduct Commodity Murabahah Tawarruq transactions for Wholesale Banking financing facilities as and when requested.
• Keep abreast of latest developments on Islamic Banking.
• Perform Shariah compliance review on all credit papers submitted by the stakeholders, prior to approval by the credit approving authority, which include new or additional Islamic financing facilities, annual review and restructure & reschedule cases.
• Perform Shariah review on letters of offer, to ensure no non-Shariah compliant terminologies used and terms and conditions are Shariah compliant.
• Key stakeholders are Relationship Managers from the Group Wholesale Banking Coverage and Credit Operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
