Job Description
The Group General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all business operations and driving the company’s strategic and financial performance across management andoperations teams. This role acts as the central bridge between directors, departmental managers, and ground operations — ensuring smooth coordination, operational excellence, and profitable growth. The GM leads the management team, drives cross-functional alignment, and ensuresexecution of company strategy in line with its mission and values.
Job Responsibilities
- 1. Strategic Leadership & Alignment
Translate company mission, vision, and annual targets into actionable plans.
Lead biweekly management meetings to review progress, resolve challenges, and maintain alignment across departments.Conduct quarterly OKR setting and performance reviews with all managers.Work closely with the 3 Directors to align on major expenses, contracts, andinvestments (for approval by Directors).Prepare and present monthly performance reports summarizing key financial, operational, and people metrics.Drive strategic initiatives supporting growth, export expansion, and marketpositioning.2. Operational Excellence & Bridging Management and OperationsOversee all daily operations including manufacturing, fulfilment, warehouse, procurement, and administration.
Ensure strong alignment and collaboration between office management teams (sales, marketing, finance, HR) and ground operations.Review and strengthen SOPs, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency andscalability.Oversee compliance with ISO, GMP, HACCP, HALAL, and Organic certifications.Lead continuous improvement in productivity, cost efficiency, and qualityperformance.3. Financial & Commercial PerformanceOversee company P&L performance and ensure profitability in line with annualtargets.
Collaborate with Finance Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Monitor commercial performance across B2B, export, and marketing channels.Ensure all sales and marketing investments deliver measurable ROI.Drive strategic projects that contribute directly to top-line and bottom-line growth.4. People Leadership & Culture DevelopmentLead, coach, and evaluate all department managers to ensure accountability andleadership growth.
Oversee HR strategies for training, talent development, and succession planning.Conduct quarterly manager reviews focusing on progress, challenges, and capability development.Foster a culture rooted in the company’s Core Values : Passion, Learn, Efficiency, Teamwork, Communication, Honesty.Strengthen interdepartmental communication and staff engagement to maintain ahigh-performance, low-turnover culture.5. Governance, Risk & ComplianceEnsure compliance with local laws, food safety standards, and certificationrequirements
Implement robust internal controls, data accuracy, and performance monitoring.Identify risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide regular updates toDirectors.Lead audit readiness and documentation for ISO, HALAL, GMP, and Organiccertification.6. Key Projects & Change ManagementLead and stabilize the new factory move (Rawang) — ensuring smooth transition, system readiness, and minimal downtime.
Oversee new product launches and ensure interdepartmental coordination(procurement, production, marketing, sales).Drive key strategic projects that strengthen long-term operational and brandcompetitiveness.Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Management, Finance, or any related field.Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or export industries.Proven track record managing both management and operational divisions.Strong P&L management experience with evidence of driving profitable growth.Familiar with food manufacturing compliance and certification processes.Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership style.Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.Excellent strategic planning and financial literacy.Ability to align diverse teams and manage change effectively.High integrity and professionalism consistent with company values.Resilient, decisive, and adaptable under pressure.Remuneration
