Position Title : Finance Manager, Sole Contributor Role
Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting, regulatory, and reporting standards. The role will involve preparing financial statements, overseeing internal controls, and working closely with external auditors, actuaries, and regulators to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of financial and actuarial reporting. This position is based in Bangsar and offers a hybrid working environment, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory filings, tax returns, and regulatory reports.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cashflow management to support business decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of company assets, liabilities, and capital reserves.
- Act as the primary point of contact with external auditors, coordinating audit planning, fieldwork, and resolution of audit findings.
- Liaise with external actuaries to support reserving, capital adequacy, pricing, and valuation exercises.
- Review actuarial reports and ensure consistency with financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Facilitate timely provision of data, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to auditors and actuaries.
Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements, including insurance and solvency regulations.Maintain and strengthen internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.Support the implementation of risk management and governance frameworks.Team & Stakeholder Management
Work collaboratively with other business units, including underwriting, claims, and compliance, to ensure alignment of financial reporting with operational activities.Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) is required .Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, with 7+ years preferred, ideally in the insurance, financial services, or other regulated sector.Strong understanding of IFRS, regulatory reporting, and solvency requirements.Proven experience liaising with external auditors and actuaries is essential.Advanced proficiency in financial systems and MS Excel; knowledge of insurance accounting systems is an advantage.Key Skills & Attributes
