Head of Sales Agency Distribution (Great Eastern Takaful Berhad) Reporting to the Chief Distribution Officer, the Head of Sales will be responsible for leading and strategizing action plans to drive the company’s sales strategy and workstreams to enhance productivity and achieve sustainable business growth. This leadership role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual with strong strategic, operational, and people management capabilities within the insurance industry.
The Job
Responsible for the development and implementation of workstream plans
Set clear, measurable targets and performance indicators for the sales organization
Achieve business targets in the workstream and overall sales and recruitment targets
Design initiatives and programs, particularly MAPA-based projects, for the field force to drive productivity, increase business persistency, and improve retention
Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing business development team for the agency channel
Identify training and development needs of the business development team to uplift competencies for workstream projects
Build and strengthen relationships with key field force members and strategic partners
Oversee day-to-day sales operations, ensuring efficiency and effective resource allocation
Monitor and review agency performance, analyze trends, and take corrective actions as needed
Drive recruitment of new agents, agent activation, and development of new leaders
Collaborate with marketing, underwriting, operations, product development, and claims teams to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives
Our Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance or a related field. CFP, RFP and FLMI are advantageous
Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive sales leadership experience in the insurance industry
Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing agency and / or multi-channel sales teams
Experience in strategic planning and operational execution
Strong leadership and people management abilities
Excellent strategic thinking, business acumen, and decision-making skills
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive, and dynamic market environment
