We are opening an exciting new live seafood restaurant concept set to open soon at Setia Alam . This will be the 2nd restaurant under the Shabu Shi Sdn Bhd. Designed to be a vibrant culinary destination, we celebrate authentic flavours, premium ingredients, and modern dining experiences . Our mission is to create a space where guests feel inspired by the food, service, and atmosphere. To bring this vision to life, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef who specializes in Chinese and Western cuisine to lead our kitchen team and shape the soul of our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
As the Head Chef , you will play a pivotal role in building the identity of our restaurant, driving innovation, and ensuring excellence in every dish served. Your responsibilities will include :
- Kitchen Leadership & Operations : Oversee the full spectrum of kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and smooth service
- Menu Development & Culinary Innovation : Conceptualize and design menus that highlight authentic Italian and / or Western flavours while embracing contemporary dining trends.
- Quality & Standards :
- Ensure food preparation, taste, and presentation consistently meet the highest quality standards.
- Uphold strict hygiene, food safety, and sanitation protocols in compliance with local regulation.
- Team Development & Culture : Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire a passionate kitchen team.
- Financial & Resource Management : Oversee food costing, portion control, and kitchen inventory management to achieve profitability targets.
- Collaboration & Guest Experience : Drive consistency in delivering memorable dining experiences.
Requirements
We are looking for a visionary chef with the following qualities and experience :
Proven experience as a Head Chef in a reputable or high-volume restaurant.Strong expertise in Chinese and Western cuisines , with deep knowledge of traditional techniques, modern trends, and innovative plating styles.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to lead, inspire, and grow a high-performing kitchen team.Strong business acumen with knowledge of food costing, menu planning, and kitchen management systems .Highly creative, passionate about food, and committed to excellence.Ability to perform under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Application Questions
