The Quality Manager (QM), with reporting authority and responsibility to the Director of Maintenance of CALExpress, is responsible for the quality assurance system specified in the MAME (Maintenance& Airworthiness Management Exposition). The QM shall see to it that theCAEL Quality Management System established is adhered to while ensuring thatprocedures prescribed in the MAME are complied with. The QM shall coordinatewith the Director of Safety to ensure MORs are submitted and followed up.
The QM shall alsoensure the required standards of quality are achieved for all work carried outwithin the requirements of the Cayman Islands (CI) Civil Aviation Authority(CAA) and in accordance with company procedures. This is done by ensuringAudits are carried out in accordance with established quality audit programme.The QM also ensures that only properly trained, experienced and authorizedpersonnel certify for work done on the company aircraft and all work done oncompany aircraft is in accordance with approved data and the MAME.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Carry out independent audits with associated feedbackstandards and test the adequacy of the maintenance procedures to ensure thatsuch procedures invoke good maintenance practices
- Carry out audits of all journey logs, technicalrecords and work packages for completion, accuracy and compliance with Companyand regulatory requirements
- Carry out audits of contracted organization, includingCAMO to ensure compliance with Contract, Joint Procedures Manual and OverseasTerritories Aviation Requirements (OTARs)
- Carry out annual reviews of CAEL MAME to ensureregulatory compliance
- Ensure that for maintenance carried out by otherorganizations that they are equally trained, experienced and authorized tocertify for work done on Company aircraft
- Follow up of all audit findings is done to ensurecorrective action is taken and audits are closed
- Ensure there is control in the issuing of CompanyAuthorization to maintenance personnel and that proper records of theirqualification training and experience are maintained
- Carry out annual review of Company Capability Approvalto ensure continuing validity and appropriateness for the organization’s scopeof work
- Ensure all necessary training is carried out to ensurethat personnel remain competent to carry out the tasks they are performing
- Ensure all processes and procedure include riskmanagement mitigation specified in the safety management system are compliedwith
Requirements
An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) qualificationfrom a recognized National Aviation Authority (NAA)Command of the OTARs as they relate to the functioningof the companyMinimum ten (10) years of Quality Assurance experiencewith requisite training in audit processes and functionsMinimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in asimilar positionDetailed knowledge of safety and regulatoryrequirements including company regulations, FAA, CAA CI and IOSA requirementsManagement training at a foundation levelExcellent people management and leadership skillsComputer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Wordand ExcelCommunicate effectively at all levels and in allformats, internal and external to the organizationStrong organizational management and administrativeskillsPossess investigative and analytical skills and haveexcellent judgment when evaluating technical mattersHave an authoritative presence and personality toeffectively police the standards of airport handling operations system wideBe decisive and impartial when making decisionsHave excellent attention to detail, accuracy and timemanagementBe willing to work on-call, nights and weekends whenrequiredCayman Airways offers an excellentcompensation package
