Engineer - Product Purchasing (Technical Sourcing)
We are looking for a highly organized and resourceful Engineer - Product Purchasing (Technical Sourcing) to join our growing team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between concept and production, working closely with our in‑house engineers, designers, and a network of manufacturing partners to bring retail and industrial products to life.
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with local and overseas manufacturers.
Serve as the main point of contact for factory communications and follow‑ups.
Negotiate costing, lead times, and payment terms with suppliers.
Assess potential suppliers, manage selections, and finalize commercial agreements in coordination with Legal, Tax, and other support functions.
Facilitate communication between suppliers and clients on pricing, quality issues, replacements, logistics, delivery, legal compliance, and payment collection.
Oversee day‑to‑day sourcing, contracting, and supplier management activities for assigned product portfolios.
Streamline supply chain processes using critical thinking and data‑driven analysis.
Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs to identify savings opportunities.
Track and follow up on all POs, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and accurate quantities.
Ensure supplier compliance with company standards related to people, product, and process.
Work cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure supply continuity.
Define and track supplier KPIs, focusing on quality, delivery performance, and process capability.
Product Realization & Technical Support
Translate concept drawings and product briefs into actionable manufacturing specifications.
Support prototype / sample reviews to evaluate quality, function, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and production‑ready.
Coordinate documentation and ensure compliance with relevant product standards (e.g., CE, FDA, RoHS).
Assist with factory audits, quality control processes, and material certification.
Support the introduction of new suppliers, technologies, and parts.
Understand brand design languages and apply them throughout the supply chain process.
Troubleshoot technical or quality issues with suppliers.
Drive supplier‑based validation and cost‑reduction initiatives in collaboration with project managers.
Contribute to supplier risk management and supply chain contingency planning.
Work with suppliers to improve lead times, quality, and production yields.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, product development, manufacturing, or supply chain—preferably in consumer or industrial products.
Background in Engineering is preferred.
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end design and manufacturing processes, including material sourcing, tooling, and assembly.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (deep engineering knowledge not required, but beneficial).
Experience in defining materials, colors, and finishes; familiarity with photorealistic rendering tools is a plus.
Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken); Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills across diverse geographies.
Experience managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with product compliance standards and documentation.
Willingness to travel for factory visits (local or international).
