Strategic Role
- Develop and implement effective regulatory, legal, and compliance strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Provide legal advisory and support to the Board of Directors (BOD), Board Committees, and the organization.
Legal Advisory
Ensure all actions and policies are legally sound and fully compliant.Balance the legal requirements of various stakeholders, including government bodies, airlines, and the community.Provide sound, practical legal advice to senior management and the Board of Directors.Keep leadership informed of regulatory developments that may impact core and ancillary business operations.Support corporate legal matters related to financing, restructuring, investments, mergers, and acquisitions.Provide specialized legal analysis on areas such as bankruptcy, real estate, employment law, public procurement, construction, intellectual property, and tax law.Advise on company formation, trusts, and governance structures.Legal Management
Review and approve contracts, agreements, leases, financing documents, permits, and other legal instruments.Ensure corporate policies, governance practices, and regulatory requirements are met.Oversee complex litigation, including employment disputes, contractual disagreements, arbitration, and judicial reviews.Manage the Legal Affairs Department, prioritizing workload and resource allocation.Mitigate legal risks while ensuring business units receive proper legal guidance.Legal Collaboration
Coordinate and manage legal issues across the organization.Supervise external legal advisors and ensure cost-effective legal support.Ensure full compliance with corporate law, regulatory requirements, and ethical business standards.Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB Honours) or equivalent.Professional Experience
At least 15 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney or in-house counsel.Strong background in government, transportation, aviation, business and contract law, and commercial transactions.Excellent networking and relationships with relevant authorities and industries.Skills & Characteristics
Strong drafting skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.Ability to provide sound legal advice.Experience in navigating public-sector environments with high transparency requirements.Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to legal challenges.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.High integrity and ethical standards.Ability to adapt and learn industry-specific legal frameworks, particularly in aviation.Industry Preferences
Experience in aviation or a public-listed company.Exposure to business strategic partnerships and joint ventures.Experience managing diverse business portfolios, both local and international.Familiarity with holding companies and subsidiary governance.Knowledge of international business, regulations, and governance.Job Type : Permanent
